Antique Brass Adjustable Chamberstick with Original Snuffer

A beautifully practical antique brass chamberstick, complete with its original conical candle snuffer and adjustable push-up mechanism.

Designed for bedside use before electric lighting, the small side knob lifts the candle upwards as it burns down, allowing every last inch to be used. The generous shaped drip tray catches wax, while the fitted snuffer provides a satisfyingly old-fashioned way to extinguish the flame.

With its warm, softly aged brass and wonderfully functional design, it would make a lovely addition to a mantelpiece, bedside table or autumn table setting.

Likely dating from the late Victorian to early 20th century, circa 1890–1920. A few gentle marks and areas of age-related wear, all adding to its authentic character.
