Pair of Vintage Dutch Blue & White Opaline Storage Jars – Willem II
A wonderful pair of vintage mid-century opaline glass jars, originally produced for the Dutch cigar maker Willem II Sigarenfabrieken.
Made in Belgium, each creamy white opaline jar is decorated in deep blue with a different traditional Dutch scene and finished with its original dark press-on lid. The combination of blue and white, slightly chunky proportions and graphic illustrations gives them a particularly lovely collected feel.
Originally intended as cigar or tobacco jars, we think they are far too good to hide away. Style them on open kitchen shelving, a dresser or pantry, or repurpose them for storing tea, coffee, utensils or small household treasures.
A charming pair with just the right amount of vintage character — decorative without feeling overly precious.
Embossed to the base with Willem II Sigarenfabrieken, Valkenswaard, Holland and Original Opaline / Made in Belgium.
Condition: Very good vintage condition with light age-related wear, particularly to the lids, consistent with their age. Please see photographs for full condition.
Sold as a pair.
